Starting from today June 9, we are offering a new shipping service with FedEx International Priority. This service will replace DHL here at otonaJP and offers a variety of improvements for our customers. FedEx is a service that has been long requested by our customers and we have listened. FedEx offers the following advantages.
- fast and reliable Worldwide Shipping within 1-3 business days on average with their International Priority service
- wider pick up options worldwide, specially in the US and Canada
- competitive shipping rates that often beat the much slower EMS Express in price
FedEx shipped orders can be tracked on fedex.com or via your account dashboard at otonajp.com same as any other shipping method we offer.
As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to drop us an email 🙂
So why was DHL swapped to Fedex?
DHL had service interruptions in the past and specially during covid besides the other reasons stated in our blog post. So we decided to switch which has been a good decision so far but we are surely always monitoring the situation to see of we can make improvements to our service.
Being the only shipping method available to Canada, the $50 USD shipping cost is a no-go for me.
Hopefully the other shipping options return someday.
Yes sadly Japan Post has restrictions on all shipping methods to Canada but Small Packet at the moment which leaves only FedEx. As soon as other methods become available we will offer them for sure. We are monitoring the situation with Japan Post on a daily base.
